September update – Fish, wine, art and more

Open studios as part of the Coastal Currents festival have one more weekend to run. The SoCo groups’ Sanctuary exhibitions have been displayed across several churches across Hastings and St Leonards.
The brand new F-ISH Gallery has just opened its doors in the centre of Robertson Street, Hastings and is described as ‘a major statement of intent for the development of Hastings as a centre for cutting edge new art’. Its first exhibition features the work of Mario Rossi -an ‘artist who comes to the sea as a 21st century painter’

The Seafood and Wine festival is in full swing (20 & 21st September) and we have sunny weather to celebrate it!. There are stalls displaying paella, crepes, smoothies, sushi, seabass curry and much, much more to stimulate the senses accompanied by interesting shops, businesses and a wide range of music.

Artwatchguide visited the Brighton Art Fair this weekend which was buzzing in spite of the economic climate! and then we attended the brilliant ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream‘ (part of the Coastal Currents Festival and presented by Eyeline Productions) in the beautifully restored and most appropriate St Leonards Gardens.
