Jerwood, Towner, Memorial, Photography
The Jerwood plans were visited by 1000’s of people and the consultation process continues to 27 March but any comments submitted after this date can still be taken into account (see previous post).
Meanwhile the new Towner gallery in Eastbourne opens to the public on 4 April.
The new Towner will present a programme of major exhibitions and of contemporary and historical visual art alongside displays from the previous Towner Museum. Conference facilities, Education and Archive and research rooms, large shop selling arts related books and merchandise and a cafe with views over the downs!
An excuse to visit Eastbourne…and the expanded (2nd year running) Eastbourne arts festival packed with events and open studios starts on the 11 April and runs until the 26 April.
The Memorial Art gallery hosts another exhibition of local Photographer Martin Everett who presents
large scale atmospheric and poetic work. These images form part of a Residency undertaken at Rudyard Kipling’s home at Batemans.
The exhibition runs until the end of April and is well worth a visit. The memorial gallery is open by appointment only.
