Claremont, Memorial, Church, SoCo
A busy period in Hastings with many exhibitions and events including the now well established monthly First Thursday. Some other highlights included seeing ‘Reparation’ at Claremont Studios (opposite the United Reformed Church), a quietly reflective piece made by artist Maggie Cullen as a result of some personal bereavements.
At the Memorial Gallery is a fascinating series of photographs and videos by Philip Sanderson to investigate fly tipping all over the UK. This exhibition is on until 20 June and is open only by appointment.
At St Mary in the Castle the SoCo artists group held a successful fund-raising exhibition and event on June 7 of more than 200 postcard size images by more than 100 local artists.
